The commission

Pacific Vertex is a mixed-use precinct: residential towers, a boutique hotel crown, and a retail podium. Verticea led façade consultancy from concept through design development and construction for the towers and podium.

The tower envelopes combine unitised curtain wall with prefabricated window-wall modules at recessed balconies, glass balustrades, and glazed wind canopies. The podium is a stone curtain wall — honed limestone panels on a unitised cassette — developed through rigorous testing to meet structural, seismic, and safety requirements for a large-format stone skin in a high-seismic zone.

Tensile cable structures at the hotel lobby and a modular solar-control screen on the west elevation required close collaboration with the architect, structural engineer, and specialty fabricators. We wrote the performance specification, reviewed contractor alternatives, and attended factory inspections overseas.

Key outcomes

  • Four-tower mixed-use envelope strategy
  • Largest limestone podium wall delivered by the practice to date
  • Seismic-capable stone cassette with tested anchors
