Sustainability and ethics

Verticea has the responsibility and the opportunity to make a durable difference, which we integrate into everyday detailing, corporate culture, and project strategy. An envelope that leaks, overheats, or must be replaced at year fifteen is a carbon and cost failure — however it looked on opening day.

What we measure

• Operational energy through U-value, SHGC, airtightness, and shading
• Embodied carbon of glass, aluminium, and stone — and the case for keeping existing walls
• Daylight and glare so mechanical systems are not asked to compensate
• Longevity: coatings, drainage, access, and replaceability

Existing buildings

Recladding and repair are often the highest-leverage carbon decisions a client can make. We present keep / over-clad / replace as options with carbon and disruption attached, not as a single heroic new wall.
