Materials science
Glass, stone, metal, terracotta, coatings, and interlayers — specified with the honesty a fabricator and a building physicist both require.
Materiality is not a mood board. It is thickness, coating, edge condition, joint, and how the assembly ages in sun, salt, and seismic movement. Verticea specifies and reviews glass makeups, stone cassettes, aluminium coatings, stainless grades, terracotta, and composite panels so that the architectural intent survives fabrication and decades of weather.
We have delivered large-format stone curtain walls, unitised glass with complex coatings, and hybrid walls where metal rainscreen, terracotta, and vision glass share a grid. Testing — freeze-thaw, anchorage, impact, weathering — is part of the specification, not an optional extra.
Focus
- Insulating glass units, coatings, interlayers, and frit
- Natural stone as a rainscreen or unitised cassette
- Aluminium systems, anodising, and powder coatings
- Stainless and carbon-steel supports in marine and seismic zones
- Terracotta, GFRC, and composite panels
- Compatibility, staining, and long-term appearance
