Meridian Tower
A 42-storey office tower whose unitised curtain wall carries sloped and folded panel types, solar control, and a expressed aluminium frame.
The commission
Meridian Tower occupies a constrained downtown parcel where wind, solar gain, and a demanding architectural parti had to be resolved in a single envelope. Verticea was engaged from schematic design through construction as façade consultant.
The primary wall is a unitised curtain wall with prefabricated modules, including sloped and folded panel types at the crown and a recessed winter-garden zone on the south elevation. We coordinated structural movements, slab-edge fire, and acoustic isolation with the base building team, then led visual mock-ups, performance testing, and shop-drawing review.
Glazing is a high-performance IGU with a low-e coating specified against California Title 24 and occupant comfort criteria. Spandrel zones use back-painted glass over insulated cassettes to keep the reading continuous while meeting thermal bridging limits at transoms.
Key outcomes
- Unitised system with sloped and folded panel types
- Title 24 thermal compliance without visual compromise
- Full-scale mock-up and AAMA performance testing
