Thermal performance & building physics
Comfort, energy, condensation, and daylight — the physics that decides whether a beautiful wall is also a responsible one.
A façade that photographs well and fails thermally is not a success. Verticea’s building physicists work inside the same team as the façade designers, so U-values, SHGC, condensation risk, and airtightness are design drivers — not late-stage apologies.
We model two- and three-dimensional heat flow at transoms, anchors, and slab edges; run hygrothermal assessments; and coordinate glazing and shading with the mechanical engineer so plant is not sized to compensate for an undisciplined wall. In California we design to Title 24 and to clients who want to go further.
Capabilities
- Whole-façade U-value and SHGC calculation
- Thermal-bridge modelling at anchors, slabs, and corners
- Condensation-risk and hygrothermal analysis
- Daylight, glare, and solar-control studies
- Airtightness strategy and testing support
- Carbon and operational-energy advice for the envelope
